(formerly known as property tax abatement) - a phase in of property taxes on new real estate improvements and new personal property or personal property new to the state of Indiana. Personal property eligible for property tax phase in includes manufacturing equipment, research and development equipment, logistic distribution equipment and IT equipment. (See IC 6-1.1-12.1-2-3 ) Tax phase in can be extended for a period of one to ten years over a graduated scale. The process of obtaining a phase in of new property taxes begins with an “Application for Designation as an Economic Revitalization Area” along with supporting forms.
